En we geven je een paar tips om je ogen vrij van stress te houden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Last van je ogen door stress\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Als je last hebt van stress, maakt je lichaam hormonen zoals cortisol en adrenaline aan. Je hartslag gaat omhoog. Spieren spannen zich aan. En je brein stuurt meer bloed naar essenti\u00eble lichaamsdelen. Dit heet <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018fight or flight\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-modus. Het is een oer-reactie op gevaar. Je lichaam maakt zich klaar om te vechten of te vluchten.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Fight of flight\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-modus is heel handig als je in fysiek gevaar bent. Bijvoorbeeld als er een inbreker in je huis is. Maar je lichaam herkent stress ook als gevaar (aangezien we in fysiek bedreigende situaties ook vaak gestrest zijn). Hierdoor komt er meer licht je oog binnen. Handig als je gevaar moet zien aankomen, maar in een alledaagse situatie heb je er niks aan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Als je voor lange tijd gestrest bent, kan de langdurige dilatatie je overgevoelig maken voor licht. En het kan vermoeiend zijn voor je ogen. Daarnaast kan de langdurige aanspanning van de spieren in en rondom je ogen pijn gaan doen. Bovendien kan langdurige stress de toevoer van bloed en zuurstof naar je ogen verstoren. Dat is erg schadelijk voor je ogen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Effecten van stress op je ogen\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Er gebeurt dus van alles in en met je ogen als je last hebt van stress. Dit kan al vrij snel een negatief effect hebben op je ogen. Op de korte termijn kan je door stress last krijgen van de volgende symptomen:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Tunnelvisie (letterlijk):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> je perifere zicht neemt af en je kan allen nog scherp zien wat recht voor je staat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Lichtgevoeligheid:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> licht doet veel sneller pijn aan je ogen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Stuiptrekkingen:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de aangespannen spieren in en rond je ogen kunnen gaan stuiptrekken.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Extreem droge ogen:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> je ogen drogen uit, met jeuk en irritatie als gevolg.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Extreem waterige ogen: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">je maakt te veel traanvocht aan, waardoor je zicht afneemt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Onscherp zicht:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in een stresssituatie kunnen je ogen zich minder goed focussen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Vermoeide ogen:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> stress is altijd vermoeiend, ook voor je ogen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Zwevende deeltjes in je zicht:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> minuscule vlekjes die over je ogen lijken te drijven.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gelukkig nemen de negatieve effecten van stress ook weer snel af zodra je weer ontspant. Daarom kan stress een belangrijke oorzaak zijn van oogaandoeningen zoals glaucoom en optische neuropathie.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit kan leiden tot slechtziendheid en uiteindelijk blindheid. Volgens de wetenschappers versnelt stress het zichtverlies ook nog eens. Hoe meer stress, hoe slechter je zicht wordt. En hoe slechter je zicht, hoe meer stress je ervaart.
